Wheel size for winter set up
Preparing to take delivery of my 50i M Sport in Nov in Germany.
I'm trying to figure out what is the best winter set up. Right now I'm considering buying another set of 469M with Scorpion ice and snow. I drive in a fair bit of snow and ice, and have heard 20 inch may be too big/wide. That said, I keep winters on for half the year, so I want to avoid putting on something ugly, but also want to be safe. Would appreciate any insight as I need to order something soon. Thanks! |

Hello mate,
I`m with the same problem. Want a safer and not ugly set up. Color of the car is Pearlsilber and looks great with black wheels set up, but can not find genuine 19" for winter. Here in Bulgaria, snow sometimes stay 4 months and roads are not clear all the time, so i need not so wide back tires and at least @45mm, so 19" is the correct one. What color it will be your? |

It will be space gray.
I'm not cool enough to get black wheels, so I'll stay standard. I'm interested in hearing what folks have to say about wide tires on ice/snow. |

I've got the BMW 491 20"'s in black. They are about €4000 incl VAT with tyres and TPMS. No problems with the off-set and larger wheels, but actually didn't have much snow/ice last year to test them. Look good though as 20" essential to maintain the look!
