^^ I wouldn't go Matte. Would be different if you had matte black trim. I think the gloss black / black chrome style looks much better, especially when contrasted on the matte black inners. Worst case, try it and see what you think. You can always re-paint them.

I should've kept my mouth shut...got my first flake coming off the tip during it's last wash. Time to strip and re-paint. Sigh.

I haven't bothered re-doing mine yet, they're still holding up well except for two spots. These are easily 'fixed' once a month with a Sharpie, works wonders!

Is it much work to take the tips off?
I've seen the newspapers all over the the rear bunber, but prefer to do it is properly.

Or is it easier to remove the rear bumber?

M sport tips don't come off (you'd have to cut them). MPE tips are removable

I would like to do this but my friend's shop told me to do it properly I should either take down the exhaust or remove the rear bumper. He said he would painted on but "knowing you, you will not be happy with the finish".... apparently he is concerned that there will be orange peel or fish eye on the finish and will not be able to buff it out due to clearance issues.

Anyone on here have issues with this?

Any photos close up of finished product?
