US Configurator - Style 451 wheels available on M-sport now?

Is it just me, or did the Style 451 wheels suddenly become an option on the M-Sport package in addition to the 469Ms?

It looks like that is correct. Just configured an m sport and the 451 is an option.
Last week I tried to change my wheels from the 469M to the 468M (20" M50d wheels) to speed up production. I was told that the 468M is not available in the US but the 451 was given as an option. I like the 451's, and think they look great on an x line or luxury line but much prefer the 469's on the m sport. Now if BMW would just sell me an M50d with the 468's...

Hmm. I just built one and the 451s appeared as a no-cost option.

Interesting, I too want the 20" M Double-spoke Style 468M Alloy's for the 3D M Sport here in England. I saw them on the M5D at a dealer at the weekend and looked bloody georgous.
I asked the Product Genius can I order and they said the only way is as a dealer fit option.....currently.

My guess is that they are trying to offer more options given the rumored bottleneck issues with the 20" wheels. That's good!

I think it will take someone else (Audi?) offering a performance diesel before BMW moves. Unfortunate.

Btw if the 451 is no-cost, that's $1,000 incentive and I'm sure the market will resort itself.

Just a thought but wonder if BMW would prioritize options to "customer" cars to break the logjam as opposed to inventory cars. At 9,000 units a month that might help?

I think the 451 wheel option is a welcome change the other 20's bc of their 5 spoke deisgn look tiny on the X5....I always thought the X5M wheels looked way worse than the sport activity package 20's on the old X5 body...

You raise a valid point. I hadn't realized it was a no-cost "upgrade", just thinking it was an "alternative"....

My CA told me that customer cars generally are given priority over inventory cars. However, I think there are so many orders for F15s right now that it doesn't make much of a difference.

I tried bmw na configurator and Yes itsnot Even close To as good as the german one, but I Would not complain... You pay 2200dollars for msport and 68000 dollars for 50i, here it costs 141000 euroa and msport is 10000euros! I am officially jealous.

Yeah? Interesting... do you have the specs on the two rims / tires?

Edit... I just checked the BMW spec guide, and it seems to indicate that they're both the same size? (20x10, 275/40 front, and 20x11, 315/35 rear)?

Could be. I should have checked before I posted, sorry. Maybe the offset is different? They definitely look different. The 469's fill out the wheel well better. Open two windows, build two identical vehicles, one with one set of wheels and one with the other. Use the 360 degree view and you can switch back and forth. The 469's definitely are either wider or have a greater offset.

Agreed. I've been trying to work out the reason for it, and haven't managed to stumble on it.... yet
