Air suspension question

I recently replaced the air suspensions on my x5 f15, with the arnott ones. And I forgot to put the cover of the old one on the arnott one. Is that and issue, do I need to redo it and put the covers on?
The covers are circled on the first picture. The 2nd picture is what I installed it as.
Thank you.

I would redo it, I’m sure that has something to do with assisting in weather proofing. It’s a rubber boot.

It’s really not that hard to take. It just sucks that you have to remove the air line to get those back on… or you can cut into the boot and slip them on. But, just do it the right way.
