Parking assistance disabled

Hey all,

My parking sensors are not working. Just came up a few days ago. Was working fine the day before. Thought I heard an impact while driving and checked all the sensors. One of the front sensors appear to be damaged. Has anyone experienced this before? If one sensor goes down, does it disable the whole system?

Thanks

DrC72

Yes this is standard for such systems, not only BMW. If one of the parking sensors is damaged or provides false information entire system will shut down.

Ditto that - one of my front sensors failed and the system did not work at all until it was replaced. Returned to normal as soon as it was replaced.
