Have you tried calling it with your production number in hand? I'm sure it'll just cost you international phone charges. It's +1 800 831 1117. Good luck!

I don't think we can call 1800 numbers from Europe

When do you get a production Number? My dealer says I only get a VIN when it goes into production!

You will need your production number or vin number to check status.

Production number is provided once an allocation is available (no allocation means no production number). I was told vin # is assigned during vehicle build at the factory. Some speculates when the body is painted, and some thinks it is during the build before completion.

Thanks, either way I have to wait until end of March to have the VIN, assuming it goes into production as promised by my dealer.

Just had a look at an X5 with the 469m's fitted, they have Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT's fitted as standard.

That might be, because there simply aren't all season tyres available from anyone in the desired size.

Call 800 831 1117. The automated system will ask for either your production number or VIN number and then give you your build status. General experience is that by talking to a real person at that number you will get more detailed and accurate information than you will get from the automated system , so choose the menu option that gets you to talk to a real person.

The BMWUSA number told me that my x5 would finish production 3/3 for about 5 days, now it is saying 3/6. It's still getting here earlier than anticipated.

My vehicle completed production yesterday, about 2 days behind the initial schedule. The 800 number revised the estimated date and it met that date.

On its way to me now!

Seems to be common this week. Mine was scheduled to be completed 3/6. I called again today and it was bumped back to 3/9.
