2015: 35i or 50i
Hello Fellas!
I currently have a e70 2011 LCI 35i. I came a across a good deal on 50i 2015 and thinking of making the switch. Has all the options that I'm looking for. I know that the 50i on e70 platform was plagued with issues and not very dependable. Wanted to know if on a 2015 will I run into the same or similar issues? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks, |

I own a 15 50i with 38k miles and love it. It has been problem free, super comfortable and very quick. Owned X3,s prior to the 50i. From my experience I highly recommend it. Good luck.

If your current E70 is N55 motor, I would upgrade to the 50i.
So far it has been good and has improved from the previous N63 motor.

I take it you haven't driven this 50i yet? If you had, you wouldn't be questioning this decision, you'd already be driving the V8. If you're wiling to lose out a couple MPG's and some maintenance costs, get the 50i. And FWIW the N63Tu in the F15, at least so far, has better reliability that the N63 in the 50i. |

Do your due diligence and search the forums.... I've read plenty of issues in regards to the V8 engine with the F15. Good luck.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the advice, I am feeling good about it. Headed this weekend to negotiate and test drive the 50i. I think the price is aggressive $35k MSport with all options black on black. I need to check the mileage. |

the N63TU engine in the F15 body style is just an updated version of the N63 in the E70 body style. and they are not problem free.

Wow almost wonder how that can be right, 137k on a max 2 year old car? How? Drive all day every day? 64k miles a year? I smell something not right here...

skip. Mileage is insanely high for a 2015.

Yeah but then again, that price for a 50i M-sport should have raised red flags right from the start (ie either huge miles, or maybe even low mileage salvage title.)
For a 50i m-sport with average miles (say 30k), I think you'd me looking more at 45-50k range. |

Who drives that much? Only delivery/trucking people. So I suspect, car was used for long distance, coast to coast personal/business purposes.

look at this thread to get an idea how many problems can occur with the v8:

If a dealer can't get something like this straight, I wouldn't trust them, they will more likely give you a Car Fox instead of a Carfax or tell you it's never been in an accident.
