x5 navigation

Hey guys, new to the forum. Just bought a 2014 x5 35d.
It has a gps antenna on the roof and a navigation button, but nothing pops up on the display when the button is pressed.

This is my first BMW so I'm not sure how the nav system works. Do I need to buy maps from the dealership? I searched my vin and one of the options was "preparation for navigation package".

Any info would be appreciated!

Just call any BMW dealer and ask. Most have a person there specifically for customer support.

If nothing happens, sounds like your car doesn't have navigation enabled. If you go to the home page, does it even show navigation as an option?

Navigation isn't an option on the home page, thanks I'll give the dealership a call and see what they say.

not sure about other regions but if i remember right, all Canadian spec X5 came with navigation as standard, unless it was made standard post '14MY
