Key programming - Clarification needed please !!!

Hello,

Today I changed the cover of one of my key as really in bad condition.
Of course, I touched one button on the motherboard and it isn't working anymore
I can survive like this as I have Confort Access but I cannot open the car remotely anymore... Stupid me

So, IF I want to replace the key, seems I can order just this one https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/40010...c00DiwqML&mp=1
Exactly same FCC ID and IC.

Then I can simply program it myself when I am in the car ???
This is what this thread says:
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1336313

Just to sumarize, I have already 2 keys and comfort access. Is it easy to program a new key (Do I need to remove one key from the system).

I have already ordered a cable with ISTA.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Doesn't work that way, key from Ali Express will not work. Assuming your replaced just the shell "touching one button" will not destroy the key. Make sure your battery is good and pins got a good contact as well as there is not sticker on the back of the battery and battery is not upside down. If your key is dead you need to get one from the dealership, since each key it made by BMW and attached to your VIN.The procedure your are referring to is for car learning new key acquired from BMW. You can't buy key from Ali Express or Ebay and make it start your car. It was discussed here:

Thanks Red_Y. I really damage the pcb and first button is really out. May be I can wire a new button on it. Will try that first...

Key programming is down at BMW... Ok I will call a few vendors to see how much they take.

You didn't understand.... You can program the key yourself, the real cost is getting a new key that you can program, and that can be bought only from BMW.

Correct, it is not really a programming more of a learning procedure.
