Bought my winter 20's from these guys. good service amd nice wheels for the momey. they are Cinese but well made IMO. Check out my post in show your winters to see my 468's. There was an issue where one wheel got damaged in shipping amd these guys were great making it right.

Must admit you folks are brave to go for replicate set of wheels for car like the X5, I personally will not gamble specially on the basis of the performance and weight of the X5.

What is the gamble? If I bend one oh well. They arent going to snap in half. Ive run replicas for years on all kinds of cars with zero issues. The X5 weighs no more than the others.

Running replicas too and on my second year and still no problem. I've curbed them like twice and haven't bend in the slightest. (Touch wood)

Not to mention that RF tires are heavier and harder than non-RF - it's harder to crack a rim even when hit a pot-hole on a highway.
20" rim on X5 has about 4" of rubber to protect it, not really a low profile. |

To each their own. I believe you do run the risk of quality issues if buying replicas, especially if you're not familiar with the brand. That's not to say there aren't reputable replicas out there. Cracking a rim is one extreme, but on the other side are weight and balancing issues that can also impact your driving experience and offset any value saved in price.

We've covered this topic multiple times on this forum. Your best bet will always be reputable aftermarket brands such as BBS and HRE, or just sticking with some nice 20" or 21" OEM wheels.
Replicas can be a gamble. You might run then for 20 years without any issues, or you could have one where the finish starts peeling, they could crack, be out of balance, etc. etc. To each their own. But my personal take is that you should be able to find OEM 20" wheels for the same or less than what they're asking for those replicas. |

If you know where to buy 20" set of BMW wheels in good shape for $1000 please let me know. Wont happen. Reputable dealers like tire rack sells all kinds and brands of wheels for our cars, many made in the same Chinese factories as the replicas. I am very active on all kinds of forums and havent heard of any major failure on any wheels these days. Please stop woth the gamble bs, you are more likely to get hit by another car than have almost any decent wheel made these days fail on you in a catastrophic way.

The part that worries me is the Replica, in other words either BMW is charging a fortune on the real cost of making them, or the replicate one are half standard what a normal wheel should be hence maybe the safety compromised. I am curious to know the insurance status on moves like this one for your car.
