2017 X6 Seatbelt Chime

How can I kill the annoying seatbelt chime?

Coding the only option? Anyone in the Minneapolis area do this?

Sorry if this sounds sarcastic but, how about just wearing the seat belt?

Ha, I turned my off with coding, and NOT because I do not wear one. Ones I put my work bag with lap top in it on a passenger sit... Chime bugs to day light of me)))

I have notice the passenger seat is very sensitive and even a gallon of milk makes the chime go off. Does drive you nuts even though the chime is one of the nicer ones ive had in my cars

I don't like it either, on my previous F15 seatbelt sound would come on after a few minutes, now it start as soon as you start the car. I still have to train myself to put the seatbelt on first (prior to starting a car). MINI by far has the most annoying sound....

So now that I enter the car what I have (will have to) is open car, sit down, put on seatbelt and start the car, switch of the autostart/stop and I am on my way... Oh did I forget I have to re-engage AppleCar play most of the time bcs it does not automatically turn itself on....Plus put the phone away in a charger....

CAR magazine once described that one you enter a new Jaguar first you have to shake hands with the car every time before you drive somewhere...

I suppose that would be the first thing that came to mind... But if you don't own one, you wouldn't know how annoying it is... To be in PARK and the chime continues and continues and continues and continues... Wanna rip my hair out! It is absolutely brutal! My Ford Explorer allowed you to kill the chime just doing a few things to the car in a certain order...

I need this chime gone, now! Help!

PS - I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt when in drive. Duh.

Sorry, I've not had any issues. When I'm sitting in the car and not intending on driving then the engine is off. I'm guessing BMW wants their occupants to be safe and doing what they can to make sure their owners are secured with a seatbelt.

Coding.

Or buy a seatbelt buckle and leave it plugged into the receiver.

It might be a slight inconvenience but there is always the backseat for the backpacks and bags or even the trunk or another option is the floors.

Agreed; my 5lb notebook in brief case sets off warning. I always remove just my passenger Auditory Chime and keep cluster indication.

I can help you remove your Auditory warnings for seat belts. Options include the following:
  1. Initial Belt Warning (BMW Welcome Gong) - Remove or change to BMW_i, BMW, Rolls Royce, or mini
  2. Shorten Warning Timeout
  3. Passenger Only
    • Auditory Chime Removal
    • Instrument Cluster Indicator
  4. Driver Only
    • Auditory Chime Removal
    • Instrument Cluster Indicator

To insult me by calling me a millennial for being sensible.

So your just a Bernie bro. I like when people mind their own damn business.
If you want to wear a seat belt that's YOUR business don't lecture others about theirs.

Garage List
This is a forum where everyone can post their opinions. That’s the beauty of it isn’t it? You can say whatever you want.

If I don’t like something that is said or I disagree I post my a rebuttal with sound facts or I just ignore what was said.

Folks who go around calling people names or post bigotry makes is them no different from whiny children that need to be put on a [ignore list.]

Interesting revival of an old thread, especially since some commenters must've been waiting for 3 years for a response since they came screaming back right away.

Anyway....I'll add some insight to the original topic since it was brought up. The Carly (app) allows you to turn off the seatbelt reminders for those interested. You can also choose which sounds you want (BMW, MINI, or Rolls). I switched mine to Rolls Royce, so much more refined and elegant!

First of all it is You're or you are… this is a public forum where we can all express our opinions. If you post on this forum then be prepared for everyone's mind being expressed.. whether it is positive or negative.
