F16 Power outlet in the Trunk

Just ordered a Dashcam to install in the vehicle, and am not after parking mode or anything, just want the camera to be powered when the ignition is on for when I am driving.

Have read up on all the guides provided here but wanted to confirm if the power outlet in the trunk switches off after 15 mins when you leave the vehicle or does it run permanently ?

I wouldn't want to drain the battery down with the camera running non stop.

Any help appreciated.

It turns off after 8 minutes.
