Hold up..... Is the X5M/X6m going to get the DCT option instead of the Automatic.. That would frickin ROCK. I love the DCT trans in my M3 and the wife has no problem with the DCT in D mode... Oh wait... this is BMW.. the X5M will get the Automatic and the X6m will get the DCT because it is so much more sportier than the X5m...

The shift knob and lower center console is a bit different than the current 14' x5.

It was stated that the pic above is an X6. The e70 console was a bit different in the X6 vs X5 as well. Then again BMW may decided to make changes to the console for the X///M versions.

It will get used with the right driver behind the wheel.

My kids love launch control in my X6M!!

As to comments on how it doesn't look too different from non-M model, that's always been the case with M. They are sort of sleepers. Quad exhaust, blue (black on the initial E70/E71 pre LCI) M brake calipers, M side gills, larger front intakes .... How much more visual difference can you expect? Its always been like this...
Exactly. Not sure what others have been looking at but this is along the same lines as previous Ms.

M cars normally have that style of shifter knob..
Search for a E60 M5 shift knob.

That shift knob has less to do with the ///M car(z435is and 335is had a DCT) and has do to with the fact that this is the one which is used with the DCT. That would mean that the X5M/X6M is moving from a 6speed Automatic to the 7speed Dual Clutch Manual Transmission.

If it gets the DCT, I will overlook the tepid styling.
