Looking for a Window Sticker, or Factory Options?
Recently picked up a 2014 X5. There was no indication of options included on it, and was curious if anyone knew how I could get what the vehicle was optioned with.
Thanks

Already did that. That doesn't tell me the packages.... it tells me vaguely what it has but not if it's luxury line or if it has certain packages. Which is what I'm after

You can derive that info from the VIN lookup by comparing the options listed to the order guide.

You can also make an account on bmw website. Under owner section you register and add your vehicle.
After you can view all the items your car came with.

Thanks of the ideas! I had heard of the aftermarket companies making them, but knew nothing of the BMW online account.

Where exactly on the BMW account site were you able to obtain the info you were looking for on the installed options, window sticker info? I signed up and did a look through it but can't locate that information.

I'm looking at a car that no one knows who the original dealership that sold it. I can get a vin report all day long, but would like to find out who the original dealership was and see if I can get the service records. The car is a 2013.

Even with this information, that dealer may not have been the servicing dealership on this vehicle. And there's limitations about what dealers can pull for service history. My service advisor has told me more than once that he can only see service history from the 4 year/50K mile warranty period, after that he has no visibility into service records, unless the work was done at his dealership. At this point, most 2013 models have probably been serviced at a # of different shops over the years. Seems unlikely you'll find a complete list of service work, but I'd start with the Carfax to identify the selling dealership and go from there. |
