Very disappointed after all the rumors of M-DCT... Porsche has PDK as standard on their base Macan!
Why do they use the M-DCT shifter on a std 8 speed auto box? Misleading...

The HP is also a major let down... Minimum should have been the 575 offered on the M5 competition package.
3% increase over predecessor?? Someone stop the presses...

Interior and Exterior look good but not great to me.

$10K jump in base price is significant to say the least.

Compared to the previous model.

What does this prove? The last gen had a 6psd? If you had pictures of the second clutch, the claim would be compelling... this is just a electronic shift leaver (something that can take almost any form).

Like the previous X5M...Not a fan of the new SUV models from BMW.

Without a doubt, X5M looks better than X6M to me.

Love the two new M colors. And that X6M is looking surprisingly sharp.

For what it's worth, the E92 335is and the E89 Z4 35is both had DCT transmissions, but they used the 8-speed auto shifter instead.

Loving how the new x5 m looks...will be interesting to see how they compare with the Range Rover Sport SVR. I can't for my current lease to end.

Smaller displacement will invariably mean slightly more turbo-lag. unless they performed magic. The m5 already had way too much lag.

Still i guess this might just be my next car. A selling point for the new M5 (old x5m) over audis was that it had more displacement. This engine just looks like an RS7/S8 engine clone…
Wait. Where do you see that it doesn't share the same engine as the M5? It's the same displacement, the same turbo layout, slightly more HP, and from a production standpoint, it'd be completely illogical to use a different engine. Do you have confirmation of this?

the original post had a typo. listed the engine as a 4.0 instead of a 4.4

but if you were to read in the brackets it listed it as 4395cc. which is why i don't understand why a few people in this thread are not picking up that it was a typo

I actually saw a test mule today in my town in NJ. I turned around but couldn't get video or pics. It's funny because this was released today. I have never seen a test mule before.

exhaust

I may have missed it but I did not see anything mentioned about the exhaust or whether it had active sound like the M5 and M3/4.

Donington looks very similar to Space gray which is good, not a fan of Singapore or Mineral gray too dark for me. Not a fan of the fogs but love the standard 21"s with non run flats.

Looks like the replacement for my 2013 X5M..

Disappointed to not see a DCT when there were early rumours that said it would finally get one but given the fact that the 8-Speed AT that BMW uses is that good, it's not that big of a deal.

As for design, I think it blows the previous X5/6 M's away, the lines are so damn sharp looking in the best way possible.

Wasn't a big fan of the new X5 when it debuted but the X5 M looks amazing especially those seats!

Only thing I don't understand is why it comes with a 8AT and not DCT..

I think I prefer the look of the M sport X5 than this.

Something about this SUV is weird to me. It looks good in person but pictures/video just don't do it.

Afraid of sticker price. _@
