You can code speed in the instrument cluster with bimmercode, not bimmerlink (bimmerlink is for diagnose mostly). I have coded it in my F15 and it works well (i have 6WB cluster).

I believe it happens when you code with engine running. It happened to me too. After restarting the car, CEL went away. I was used to coding with E-sys, which has no issue with coding with engine running.

Does anyone knows how to turn on surround camera on reverse instead of reverse camera by default? That's the last coding thing that I am missing .. |

Lol I somehow coded M550d to my cluster when I open the doors or when I shut off the engine. Not exactly sure how I did that lol. It happened when I was coding TJA. I must have seen something and changed it and forgot all about it. Haha anyone know where this is. Again it's only when I first open the door and after I turn the car off when it shows up at the bottom of my cluster.

Still having some trouble getting bimmercode to work. I am connecting to the vgate via wifi from an iphone 6...when I go to change the code, it gives a network connection error, almost like because when connected to the vgate it cant connect to the actual internet (cant have two wifi connections at the same time)...what am I doing wrong? Should I be connecting to the vgate via Bluetooth instead? The iphone I am using isnt active on a carrier, its a backup phone so to get internet I connect via home wifi and I did verify signal by disconnecting from vgate wifi and connecting back to home wifi. Slow communication is enabled.

Hey everyone… Beginner here trying to code my 2017 F15 40e using the Bimmercode/Bimmerlink apps.
I’ve had success in all areas until I arrived at the BDC… I coded comfort access mirror folding and door handle lights in reverse, and after the barrage of faults that came after the BDC came back online, I was stuck with a CEL that wouldn’t go away. No faults showing up in iDrive though. I cleared all faults a few times with Bimmerlink… no luck. Then loaded the backup coding back to the BDC, cleared all faults, and still a CEL. Took the car out for a little spin, still had the check engine light on. I let it sit for a few hours and then came back and cleared error memories again, and this time went into the hidden menu in the instrument cluster and did a few tests and the “software reset”, and finally, the CEL was gone! So… thinking that I figured out how to clear the CEL, decided to go back into the BDC and code the door handle lights and mirror folding again. Same as before, when the BDC came back online all sorts of messages about stability and parking brake, etc- and the return of the CEL. I then proceeded to clear the error memory with bimmerlink, and then again do the software reset in the hidden menu of the instrument cluster, but this time the CEL remains. I have not yet driven the car since the second round of BDC coding – not sure if that is part of the reset logic So before I revert the BDC to backup (the coded functions that I want are working), I wanted to see if anyone knows what I’m doing wrong— or what the BMW logic for clearing the CEL actually is. As I stated before, in iDrive, I’m getting an “all systems ok” message, and everything else as far as I can tell is normal. Thanks in advance for your help! UPDATE: Car sat overnight and in the morning the CEL was gone. I suppose this is the CEL reset logic? Last edited by SparkyBeems; 06-20-2018 at 07:21 PM.. Reason: Update |

Took a pass at coding my 50i tonight, and everything worked flawlessly. I used BimmerCode (iPhone) and the Veepeak ODBCheck Bluetooth adapter, and coded the following:
- Variable light distribution - Turn signals on HUD - Active blindspot at lower speed - Hatch open/close from remote / inside button - Tire pressure/temp display - Door handle LEDs on while reversing - Turn off radio on door open - Disabled disclaimers Had to use expert mode for a few of them, and used the cheat sheet in the other coding thread for the values. Just took it for a test drive, and everything works great. Got a few errors on the cluster after programming various modules, but anything that didn't clear on its own after a few seconds cleared after turning the ignition off and back on. Didn't need to download BimmerLink |

Thanks Raging. It's been hard for me to determine whether the cheat sheet is up to date and applies to all years of the F15, especially 2018 with potentially new software. Imesp daily want the turn signals in the HUD -- I did not option the 6WB, did not want them -- and GFHB which seems to not be on the cheat sheet -- at least it's not clear to me that it's there, VLD yes. I need to get it all figured. D
