Dinan/Bootmod3/Racechip/Pp-performance/Velos ? Or ???

Which one can get me the fastest 0-60?

If you want absolute power/fastest that might kill your warranty and a few drivetrain parts, go with a well known tuner and them them your goals, like a BM3, etc.

If you want fast and easy and reasonably safe, RaceChip, Dinan, etc.

A flash tune (like BM3 and others) is going to be faster, more powerful and safer than any piggyback (like RaceChip, Dinan, etc.). As onfireX5 said, working with a tuner to "dial in" the tune to your vehicle is best. This can be done through BM3, but some custom tuning shops also have their own tuning methods outside of BM3.

In addition, a flash tune is not nearly as visible to the dealership when taking the vehicle in for service. However, if something major (engine, transmission, differential, etc.) does break, they very likely will find out and quite possibly will not cover it under warranty.

Rotzy is right and those engines aren’t cheap as we all know.

Just to be clear: I'm not saying don't tune, I just think a discussion with your tuner about your tuning goals should also include a frank discussion about longevity and reliability.

And I totally agree with you, if properly tuned should not be a issue, but we know that if there is a issue they will look into the matter and void the warranty.

What’s the downside of choosing a Dinan tune? Is it not covered by BMW warranty? If one wants the “safest” tune, then should one choose Dinan??

Dinan is not covered by BMW. I have it on my wife X35. Nice bump in power over MPPK, but if something fails that is caused by the unit, Dinan has to pay for BMW to fix it. Not BMW.

Is that really any different?? Like a 3rd party warranty? Does any other tuner have as good a warranty? Still sounds like the most attractive option if one is concerned about warranty. Maybe best to have a BMW Dinan center install the tune.

That would be your best warranty option.

The downside of choosing a Dinan tune is that it's not as good as an ECU tune. Low end power wasn't good, and driveability suffered. I swapped my Dinan tune out for an ECU tune and the car drives much better.

Which tune did you go with? I'm having some issues with my dinan and thinking about swapping it out

I would remove it ASAP. Did it start setting codes right after installation or months later ?

That definitely sounds like a hardware failure. Some were programmed wrong out of the box but set those codes immediately. I’d contact Dinan for a free replacement.

I got a Eurocharged tune since I know the local guys and trust them, and I've been very happy with it.
