I have 21" on the new x6M and BMW fit me with 20" tires and wheels for 6k. I can't justify 6k, in addition to the price of the car, purchased a winter car instead. I have my 19" for sale, they have a lot of thread and were great winter tires, if anyone is interested.
Does anyone know if all 19" are a no go, or just the 19" from the previous generation X6? The 298M wheels I had on my 2013 X6M wouldn't fit the 2016 50i so I bought a set 623M wheels. I just bit the bullet today and traded in for 2016 ///M. Will these work or am I going for another set of wheels? Now I'm stressing....

Thanks in advance.

I have (still need to sell) the 19s from my 2013 X5M. I had to buy the new 20s, as the 19s won't fit over the new brakes.... sorry

Thanks for the info. I just ordered more wheels and tires for winter. Now I get to sell the 19s from my '13 X6 ///M and the 19s from my '16 X6 50i. That's OK, it's a small price to pay to have my grin back after trading the '16 50i in for '16 ///M.

It sure would be nice to live somewhere warm so we didn't have to screw around with winter set ups....

Happy New Year.

I SERIOUSLY second that. That and the potholes (craters) around here that inevitably come with the cold weather. I'm just hoping my OEM winter 20s actually show up in the next couple of weeks. Already late, but at least the weather hasn't been too gnarly yet!

I know, I'm stressing watching the weather forecast. As soon as I took delivery the temps plummeted. Hopefully Mother Nature will play nice and hold off on the snow until we get our winter set ups. Just a few weeks more...

Having grown up in NY with homes in Lake George and NYC, driving in NY is like driving on the surface of the moon. Craters here, sinkhole size holes there, I think it's where I learned to be such an offensive and defensive driver, you can't be one or the other in NY, one MUST be both!

True. The good news is since the weather has been so mild the normally fully cratered out road surfaces are only mildly spotty. But soon they will appear I'm sure. That's unless we've fully blown out global warming to the point that we'll never bottom out below freezing...

This so right- and the reason I'm not upset about not having 21"s.

True, but the 20" OEM winter setup with higher profile tires will allow more give if (when) we hit those potholes. The 285/40s offer a little more room before we get to the rim and ding the heck out of it. Much less smash it completely.

I think you misread my post- I am happy that I have 20s (and not 21s) as I appreciate the extra side-wall.

Since I started this thread, I figured I would post photos. I just had my OEM Winter set installed today. Looking forward to the first snow storm!

How do they look in back? Is the offset enough to partially make up for the loss of 40mm of rubber?

Not bad, but not as good as the stock 325 rears.

When did you order yours, and from where (I assume in NJ)? I ordered mine in Early December, they were originally expected end of the year, and now they're pushed back to mid Jan... Just wondering what your experience was. Thx

EDIT: never mind, sorry, looked back and saw you picked yours up in the Spring. Smart move. Thanks for the other info too. The waiting game continues...

Yup, ordered mine in March, and got them before my X5M arrived. Sorry about your long wait. Good luck!

Ordered mine mid-September, and they came less than a week later. I had mine installed first week of December. We got our first snow yesterday into today. Car handles incredibly well in the ice/snow with these on.
