I'm curious to know what "6NS Enhanced USB & Bluetooth" is?

What is the remaining functionality? What additional features does this stand alone feature has?

makes sense with the contrast stitching on Dakota. I inquired about having it done but frankly got nowhere before ordering my car... It would be a nice addition to the interior.
I wonder if this "technical update" for the transmission would be available to the early adopters.. though it would only make sense to get this if there is also a fuel efficiency gain as well...

I'm hoping so. I could care less about the other changes.

This is the first i've heard of any planned changes to the N55 motor. Changing displacement is a big change even though its only increasing by a small amount.

Agree- could this be the B38 (I think that's the new engine code)?

so changing displacement means it is not so easy to have a software update and modify the figures in real life?

good call, I guess contrast stitching will be for the LCI models or made to be some kind of "individual" option.
In my opinion, it is the ONLY thing missing form my car's interior (black Dakota).

Mocha dakota and ivory white dakota have contrasting stitching on the 2014 models today.

For some reason they don't include it on black, beige, and terra.

According to my sources, the technical update is not software but actually hardware change to the transmission. So updates are not likely for existing owners.

Is it safe to assume that all 2015 X5s (even August builds) will have the updated transmission? Thanks

Safe assumption, but to be sure, you'll want to ask a CA or someone in the know at BMW. All of the marketing materials indicate the transmission changes are effective at the start of production for MY15.

I just ordered a MY15 xdrive50i, M line, with ZEC Executive Package and my build sheet still includes 323 Soft close automatic doors as part of the the Executive Package. It's the first item listed. N/C.
Others said the soft close doors won't be included in packages and will be a stand alone option, which is what I wish. I don't want the soft close doors. Is this option packaged differently due to different lines (X line vs. Luxery Line vs M line? Is it packaged differently due to different models (35i vs 35D vs 50i)?
Nobody at my dealer seems to know. They just say their build says it part of the package.

My BMW dealer told me the 8-speed now has all new revised gear ratios including 5.00 first gear ratio, and a taller 0.64 eighth gear ratio. I cannot find any information to confirm this, or the exact details; does anyone have any further information ?

For 2015, soft close doors are part of the executive package for the 50i. They're not part of the premium package for the 35i/d.

yep. Unfortunately had to pony up an extra $600 for them, as I love them on my M5. They are a must for kids

Yes, the specs for the 2015 F15 X5 show the all new gear ratios for the ZF 8-speed, there is a wider spread between gears, which would be an improvement particularly for the diesel, which I felt had the gear ratios too close together; this, and the new lower gear ratios for the first few gears, ( 1st gear is now 5.00 to 1, vs about 4.7:1 for the old 8-speed), probably accounts for the better acceleration figures for the 2015 X5 update.
