F15 Xdrive50 - Hot Film Air Mass Meter 2, air filter element 2

Hey folks,

I have been experiencing a very bad mileage on my V8 F15, the full tank is barely hitting 450 "km"

Plugged ISTA+, and discovered two errors on DME and DME2 with similar message for both "Hot Film Air Mass Meter 2, air filter element 2".

Later, looked into DME air mass and DME air mass 2, but readings were almost the same +13 kg/h.

Do I have one sensor, i.e: Meter 2 faultly? Should I give it a try and clean it using Air Mass Cleaner?

Or is it something else?

I recently went through something similar - do yourself a favor and stop driving immediately and smell your oil cap, it will likely smell like fuel - how bad will depends on how much the pumps are leaking fuel into your oil which is VERY bad and will lead to engine failure.

If this is the case, it's generally the HPFP's (one or both) that are causing your faults.
