Switch Out Run Flats for Traditional Tires
I see some owners getting this done. I have less than 100 miles on the RF tires and want to trade them in to get non-RFs. Most tire shops will not do a trade in but according to this board some will. Any idea which tire stores are my best bet?

I Just switched my 20s this weekend to the Continental DWS. I had about 1,700 miles on the RFs. I kept the tires as I have a lease and I have to return the car with RFs. The ride a slightly smoother... but I have not driven on them long enough to make any claims.

Enough to warrant a switch. Not sure how to answer because it is all relative and there is no way to measure and us discuss in same metrics.
I notice a metal clang on freeway imperfections. and the tires are pulling me all over the road. Not sure if that is the trameling others are referring to. I am surprised how quiet and comfortable the X5 rides around town on the RFs. I'm not an aggressive driver and disliked the ride on the previous gen X5. I had a sports car with a sports package which was a blast for a few years but I grew tired of the harsh ride on the crappy LA roads...so the comfort dynamics of this gen X5 is great for a buyer like myself. Easy steering, softer ride...love it. I have considered also buying a 2 Series for quick, fun drives. But I wanted a more relaxed ride with my daily driver SUV. |

You'll lose a lot of $$$$ if someone does take your tires on trade in. What I did was talk to my parts dept and asked if they'd buy the RFT off the car as soon as it arrived before I took delivery. They agreed so I used the money from the RFT to buy a set of the Conti DWS and installed clear bra.

I put Conti DWS on my X5 Luxury package, before leaving the lot.
If it is a lease, you need to return it with the RFT's on. Just asking, as my dealer in PA will store the RFT's as "winter/summer swaps" until lease is up |
