Hi Guys,
I'm new to coding and I would like to update my 2016 F15 with latest Integration Level. Is it possible to download the BMW ICOM software from bmwtechinfo and update by myself? (I've downloaded following from bmwtechinfo site, ICOM-Next-3.14.08, BMW-PassThruD-3.0.9.78, ICOM-3.14.03, OMS-OSS-1.8.0) I'm using UK build F15 40e in Sri Lanka. Will there be any issue if I do it by myself? We do have local agent here but they are not willing to take personally import vehicles in. Any advice or someone can point me to reading materials would be a huge help. |

Ok, but the end result is six of one or a half dozen of the other.

Good news to report. I did some testing over the weekend with 2TB option and paddles disabled in Eco Pro, Comfort and Sport modes. There were no unintended switches to Manual mode (i.e. M2, M7). I did noticed that Comfort mode felt softer at shifting between gears and not as aggressive as before.
my next goal is to get the parking lights coding done. Thank you for all support and guidance |

Ever since I coded for SAT (and any coding for that matter), there are instances of intermittent non-upshifts when pulling away from a stop light. It appears more random than anything else, and the car will "stick" in first gear until I let off the gas, or engage manual gear change. Any help and ideas much appreciated.

Ooh, I did indeed add 2TB in my FA, but can't recall if I deactivated in BDC. Let me check...

Took car to dealer for sporadically shifting from D to M1, 2, 3.
As expected, they said caused by fault codes 420665, 8044B0, & D016E1, stored in EGS control module. Module reading down shift paddle switch being activated all the time. I will make the paddles nicht active and see if that fixes the issue. |

Btw, what did they do after finding the fault? Did they reprogram anything? Did they ask if you coded your truck? Last edited by Neuera09; 06-04-2016 at 12:36 PM.. |

@Neuera09 Once the techs read the fault codes, they stopped and didn't look any further into the transmission issue. They said the car has been reprogrammed, and I need to remove it. The techs know my car and that I've been trying to get the paddles to work on the F85 steering wheel, so when they saw the paddle error codes, they knew my car had been coded.
The SA was cool about it, and said to make sure I remove the coding before bringing it to the dealer. I told him the techs could have reprogrammed the car back to factory settings, and he said they would not get paid to do it unless they charge me. The dealer did go ahead and perform the 20k mile service since my mileage was close to it (battery replacement, oil change, cabin filter) all under warranty. I'll bet they would not have noticed the 2TB at all if it weren't for the paddle fault codes. Last edited by BitteEinBit; 06-04-2016 at 03:59 PM.. |
