The SA was cool about it, and said to make sure I remove the coding before bringing it to the dealer. I told him the techs could have reprogrammed the car back to factory settings, and he said they would not get paid to do it unless they charge me. The dealer did go ahead and perform the 20k mile service since my mileage was close to it (battery replacement, oil change, cabin filter) all under warranty.

I'll bet they would not have noticed the 2TB at all if it weren't for the paddle fault codes.
Glad to hear they were cool about it. I'm not sure if they'll have any issues updating your ECU since your vin doesn't list the 2TB option. Give us an update after you change the paddle shifters to inactive.

Last night r33/Ben programmed the truck back to factory settings (removed 2TB, cleared EGS control module error codes) and and then reapplied 2TB with paddles "nicht active". Everything is working properly so far. Hopefully this will fix the inadvertent paddle shifting error issues.

Thanks Ben!

Well, I spoke too soon. On the drive home from work this evening, with the selector lever in "D" it switched by itself into M 1, 2, 3...and then back to "D" This happened three times on the 20 min drive. Ben coded it back to factory settings for me so I can determine if it's the 2TB coding or the tranny itself causing the issue.

Car operates normal with factory settings. I've been driving it for a week now and there have been no inadvertent switching between "D" and M1, M2, M3, so it's not my tranny, it's the coding causing the errors.

22 June 16 Update:

Big thank you to Opasha for helping me troubleshoot and fix my car last week. We determined that my car is most likely missing the wire for the paddles (from the steering wheel to the transmission). r33 and I tried everything we could think of to get them to work even swapping paddle circuit boards and still no paddles. Since Opasha coded my car, it is driving great. So far it hasn't done any random switching between "D" and "M" modes. Turning the paddles off and coding ALL folders (except DME) 2TB, and clearing DTCs must be the trick for my car.

my next goal is to get the parking lights coding done.

Thank you for all support and guidance
Any update on this?

Just picked up my F85 X5M June 16 production.

The software installed on my laptop was able to code my 4/15 build 2015 35i and i assume it won't be able to do anything on my new car.

Since i already have the old software installed on my laptop what are the steps i need to do to get the updated version on it?

Do I have to delete out everything and start fresh or can I just install it? After having some things coded on my F15 it is a pain to not have it on the F85

Thanks!
Alan

I didn't get a chance to say it, but congrats on the new X5M, Alan!

Get the latest software from shawnsheridan through PM. The new files are going to be much smaller in size for the pzdzdata lite, so you won't have to worry about a long wait. Uninstall Esys, and uninstall esys token launcher. Then, proceed to install the newest esys, then the newest esys token launcher. Then, make sure to drag and drop the newest psdzdata folder into C:\Windows\Data\ (remove the old psdzdata or rename that before you drop the new folder in there). When you boot up Esys Token Launcher (obviously this is the esys program you will be using), select F085 as your vehicle selection when first prompted by Esys Token Launcher, and then you'll select F025 as target selection. If you have any trouble, feel free to PM me, and I'll be happy to help you. It's quite easy/fast at this point .

What do you mean by help? I can provide what you need and you code it, or you can bring it to me one weekend morning, and I can code it for you.

Is there an option in KOMBI to change the tire circumference for different models X5/X6?

For E89 chassis there is C08_K_ZAHL_TACHO and changing it allowed me to correct the analog speedo.

Thanks in advance

GFHB is not any more difficult per se' than other coding, however, involved than most all other codings.

PM sent.

If you can VO Code and FDL Code, including Werte value changes, than you can code it. It is just just tedious given the amount of changes required. But if you have problems, let me know.

Hello everyone, I am new to coding and attempting to learn. I was wondering if there was a way to code the top speed limiter, i purchased a 2016 x5 50i, but since I didn't choose the summer tires it is limited to 130 mph. Is there a way to change it through coding?

Thanks
