Spied: Next BMW X5 (F15) Model Hits Testing and Shows Grilles For First Time
BIMMERPOST NEWS Spied: Next BMW X5 (F15) Model Hits Testing and Shows Grilles For First Time The next generation BMW X5 (F15) has begun its public testing! We bring you the first photos of it undergoing winter testing in Northern Sweden. These photos show the F15's new grille design for the first time - which are clearly larger, wider, and bolder than the current X5's. Preliminary info indicates that the hood sits flush with the larger/wider grilles. The headlights are supposed to be trapezoidal shaped and will connect to the headlights, like the F30 3 series. The F15 will also adopt many of the new X model design cues from the X3 and X1. The F15 X5 is expected to weigh less than the current E70 X5 and ride on a modified version of the F10 5 series chassis. Expect both diesel and gasoline 6-cylinder and 8-cylinder engine options. The next gen X5 will continue to be manufactured in BMW's Spartanburg, South Carolina plant, and will go on sale in late 2013 as a 2014 model. Updated 1/22/12 with first 2014 X5 (F15) video: |

"The F15 will also adopt many of the new X model design cues from the X3 and X1." - these cues are the reason why I will never buy X3 or X1 if the cues stay. they make the car to look too cute...

Now that the photos of the X5 test mules have appeared like SCOTT26 mentioned this morning, I suspect we'll also see M4 test mule photos soon.

I thought that as well. The overhangs appear longer too, but maybe that is the camouflage being deceiving.

I agree. The X3 and X1, while both fantastic vehicles by all accounts, look a little cute. Not for me.

IS it just me or does this look longer and more proportional past to the current gen Audi Q7 and Volvo xc90? There's more length past the C pillar to the D pillar? Personally that's what I like most about the current x5, it's big enough but not suburban size soccer mom looking Does anybody get what I'm on about? Lol

I hope the cue from X3 is not that ugly curve of the 3rd row windows...

From the stance and shape (from what we can see), looks like the X5 is looking more rugged and less luxury. I kind of like it, it's reminding me a lot of a Range Rover.
