The MSRP on my 2016 50i is $96,945. After reducing by $1,500 for BMW's "Option Credit" incentive gets the balance to $95,445. My dealer then discounted the price by 7% to $88,763.85. Adding the dealer fee of $689.50 gets the price to $89,453.35. I then have to add sales tax at 6% for my county in Florida. Since I am making a down payment of $27,693.75, I have to finance $67,600 of the purchase price (at 1.89% APR which is not bad and made it just before the Fed raises interest rates). Thus, there are documentary stamp taxes of $236.60 (35 cents for every $100 of loan). Not including the title fee and tag transfer fee (which will be about $77), my out the door price is $95,057.15. An awful lot of money for something that will quickly lose value. But, you only live once and it is just money (that is my rationalization anyway).

Sadly I am not sure if that is a good deal. I got mine "35i" discounted by 11%. Not sure if that works with 50i as well.

So not that good of a deal. Also if you are going that high on the car why not get the X5M?

That is a good question. I absolutely love the X5M but that kind of power and look is for a younger man (I am 52 years old), it is not available with adaptive cruise control (or at least I don't think it is), and my wife would kill me if I paid more than $100,000 for a car/truck (and I would if I ordered the options I ordered on my 50i).

By the way, I really did not think my deal was so bad. Most comments about price hovered around a 7% discount off of MSRP which is what I got. Maybe I am just blissfully naïve but I am happy with my deal.

hahaha cars have no age. The faster the better and that works for anyone. You likely could have got it below 100,000 no problem. The price difference from 95 - 105 is imo negligible. Either way enjoy your purchase!

Bought my X5 50i late August. Invoice was;

Base $70,700
Cold Weather $550
Drivers Assist $1,700
Exec Package $3,200
Lighting $1,900
M Sport $3,900
20" M Wheels $950
Front Air Seats $500
Dest Charge $995

Total $84,395
Paid $79,000

This vehicle had just arrived to the dealership so I did not have to wait for the 2016 model. Traded in a truck that they gave me exactly what I wanted for it for $27,000. Used the 1.79% to finance the rest. I was happy plus the dealership buys all its gas from my c-store so win win for both!

BTW...what great option(s) did I forget to get?

Hi guys,

Soon to be part of the F15 family car will be ready on 11/15 and hoping for it to be here by that week

Initially my SA gave me this numbers and told me that things could change. What do you think
2016 Sdrive 3.5i
mineral white
Premium package
m sport package
20"wheels
ceramic controls
rear view camera
3rd row seating
rear manual shades
multi contour seats
Terracota leather
Harman Kardon System
MSRP : 68,220
Selling price : $60,900
It includes a $1000 driving event certificate and the loyalty program $1500
36mo/10k
$753+tax
just first month and tag @1,100

Is this a good deal if I can get it ? also I heard that on top of the $1500 loyalty program there is BMW rebate for $1500. can anyone confirm ?

Thanks

That is a great build and congratulations on your new X5 (I wish mine would hurry up and get here). Assuming the $79,000 you paid did not include sales tax, title and tag fees, you received about a 6.4% discount off MSRP which I think is good. If you look at other posts on this thread, I think you will see that most people receive a discount off of MSRP that hovers around 7% (I bought my wife a Z4 earlier this year and the same dealer would only give me a 6.06% discount off of MSRP). To me, when calculating the discount off of MSRP, sales tax, tag and title fees, and any documentary stamp taxes on any loan to finance the purchase should not be included since those items are fixed based on your residence. I also add the dealer fee to the MSRP and I do not include any incentives just so I can compare apples to apples. Any BMW incentive received is just gravy.

So, what options did you forget to get? I think you have a great build just like it is. For me, absolute must have options would also have included the Adaptive M Suspension (2VF), Active Cruise Control (5AT), and the space saver spare (300). If your budget could stand it, I would also order the Dynamic Handling Package (ZDH) which, of course, requires the order of Adaptive M Suspension (2VF) as well. I included several other options on my build but those additional ones were not "must have" but rather "you only live once and it is just money" reasons for ordering them.

Thanks taxjoc. I probably should have added the M suspension. I thought it was included in the M Sport package that came with car but when I looked on the invoice it was not. How much is the option?

I need dealer to speak with that can do a 7-8% off MSRP and combine both of the BMWUSA offers. My local dealers are not budging...one will do the 8% but no other incentives, the other will do both incentives but only 4.5% off MSRP. Anyone have a good dealer. I am in South Florida.
