VIN s/be before the production begins. VIN date is either the start or end date of production. Orders can be changed as little as say 6 days before production. Logically if no changes to orders then the VIN is firm and that is before production, six days before.

I called the production phone number! 1-800-832-1117. They have a whole lot more info then the My BMW site. They can tell you when it's in the paint shop, body shop and assembly. When you call press 2 put ur 7 digit production number and it will tell you where it's at. Then ask to speak to a rep and they will give u more info! I called every single day while mine was in production! Hope this helps!!

Yep! The first day I called I asked and they said still no confirmed production date, but I do have a vin here would you like it! So I got that. That's when he explained to me that they have tons more info then the website to call as often as I'd like to check the status. I did not want to bother my ca a the time...
