BMW F16 X6 xDrive 3.5i ordered
Hey guys, after so many years of wanting a BMW X6, finally I have made the decision to order one.
I have placed my order last Friday (12th) and it is scheduled for production on week 49. I have loaded it a little, I am just in doubt about the engine, if I should get the V8 instead of the in line 6 one. Also, I was in doubt about the M Adaptive suspension, I added it up yesterday thinking that it should be softer in Comfort mode compared to the Standard suspension that comes with the M package. Do you have any thoughts about my configuration, what is worth getting and what it's not? I can still change the order, until it enters in status 150, right now it's still in 112. X6 xDrive35i Space Gray Metallic Black Dakota Leather Brushed Aluminum Trim Cold Weather Package Driver Assistance Package Driver Assistance Plus Lighting Package Luxury Seating Package M Sport Package •Adaptive M Suspension + rear axle air suspension •20" M Light alloy Double Spoke wheels style 469M-with performance run-flat tires Premium Package Soft-close automatic doors Harman Kardon surround sound system |

That's what I have and they're worth every penny! The Space Gray on Red color combo looks beautiful as well! Otherwise it's a great combo, waiting to see the pics

I am not very sure about the engine, I would get the 5.0 one but coming from the M4, I got tired of the stiff suspension and the sound of the engine, I just want a smooth ride and that's all. I had a 2017 X6 3.5i as a loaner from BMW for about a week and I really enjoyed that car, it had the ventilated seats, 20 inches rims, M sports package, the car had a sticker price of $75k so it was loaded with a few goodies.
I am still in doubt also about the DHP, if I should get it for more comfort or the M Adaptive suspension will be enough. I won't be getting the tire protection plan for sure again, I only replaced one tire on that plan on my M4 when I could have just bought it instead of paying for that plan. Probably the best change in comfort that I will do will be to get rid of the run flat tires as soon as I have a flat and get the normal tires, not those run flats. Now I am just counting the days until I will go to pick up my new car, but it's not even manufactured yet. |

Get the space saver spare, esp with non_RFT. I asked, dealer said not avail. (Canada)
I am going from X5 (50i) to X6(35i). I will likely miss v8, hope not too much. Soundwise cold winter start up had louder sound quiets in a minute. Whilst driving the shifting is louder than I-6 but not bothersome. Unsure but the pumped in sound may be disconnected, by panel removal could be worse with possible squeak/rattle. I had a tester x6/35i msport for weekend, it was suitable, hence the order. DA and DA+, good safety. I assume majority here have 35i. Some chip, mppk etc the 35i either for performance or they wish they had a 50i or 35i with chip is the right comprise. MattBianco has done survey. Too bad more folks don't complete it! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F..._8dIA/viewform |

It seems like you spec'd out very good car.
I was going to get X6M to replace my F80 M3 but decide to keep my M3 and add X6 3.5i as daily driver. Here is my car X6 xDrive35i Carbon Black Black Dakota Leather Brushed Aluminum Trim Cold Weather Package Luxury Seating Package M Sport Package Premium Package Harman Kardon surround sound system I found this X6 is perfect for daily usage. Power is enough for what I need. My M3 has few mods that I don't need to drive similar car or power everyday. To my surprise, I like to drive X6 more than my M3. Since I usually keep my M3 between 6-7 years, started from E46, basic X6 suited me the best. At the end of the day, get what you want and drive daily. Hope you enjoy your car. |

I changed 3 loaners while I had my M4 for service. I had a 320i and I said no way I will be driving this again after 3 days so they gave me an X1 xDrive 2.8 and after that I remembered about the X6 that I liked it from the time they released its first generation. After I drove that 2017 X6 I said ok, as a daily driver I want this one, I really liked that car so I ordered one.
Anyway, it seems that you have exactly the interior choices that I also want, would you be so kind and post some photos of the interior to see the leather and the trim? Also if you can post them so that I can see them also in contrast I would be more than grateful to you. At the end of the day, after I get out of the M4, actually crawling to get out of a two door car although I am not a big guy and tired of its harsh suspension even if I always drive in comfort setting, I am just saying that's enough, I want something else. Also, here in Houston we have some damn rains in the summer that have made me turn around a few times otherwise I would have flooded the car for sure. Not saying that I would go into a river with the X6 but it's just another feeling when I drive that. I found myself lots of times braking very hard because some people driving trucks just changed their lanes in front of me without caring that I was coming. This thing didn't happen when I was driving the X6 for example. As they say, everything is bigger in Texas so I have to get something big. Last edited by CiprianS; 11-21-2016 at 07:37 PM.. |

I am still in status 112, they should build my car in week 49. I just can't wait to go and take it from the dealer. I became just like a stupid kid waiting for his toy to get to him. If I would have gotten something from the dealer's lot all of this wait wouldn't have been here...but it wouldn't have been with the options and packages I wanted...

My car is supposed to finish production today according to the automated telephone system. Anyway, since I my delivery is getting closed, let's see what are your thoughts about the deal I am getting :
MSRP : $79.820.00 Dealer Discount : $6,523.5 ( 8.17%) Selling Price : $73,296.5 This is without what ever other incentives I can still get from BMW ($1k for Holiday and $1k for Lease Loyalty this month). What do you guys think about my deal? Should I try to squeeze a little bit more?

You did get a good deal! Anything over 8% is very good. I did put the V8 in mine, I love it,but the 35 is more than adequate also.
I agree on the interior, I have found out I will need to clean the seats every week because of wearing blue jeans. It's the price I pay now. I have a thousand miles on my X6, just getting started. Post pics when you get yours. Enjoy, KP |

Unfortunately my actual car made me to say that I will never want a light color for the interior ever again!
Actually what I got on mine was : MSRP : $79.820.00 Dealer Discount : $6,523.5 ( 8.17%) Selling Price : $73,296.5 Lease Loyalty + Holiday Cash : $2,000.00 Final selling price : $ $71,296.5 ( that is 10.67% off MSRP) Plus I will also get the 1k from BMW CCA after I get the car. I can't wait to get the car but let's see if I can get it this year or not because the only day when I can actually get it will be on December 17th, all next week I will be out of town on business travel and on the 19th I am leaving the country and I will be coming back next year.

Thank you. Unfortunately when I got my M4 I only had the BMW CCA for one month so no check for me at that time.
Anyway, it seems that my car has finished production and it's on a truck on its way to the dealership and it's supposed to get there on December 12th +/-1 day. It seems that I will have the car before I leave for holidays.

Thank you. Tell me something about the M Adaptive suspension, when it is comfort, does it make the car more comfortable compared to the normal suspension?

If the road is smooth yes, I find it to floaty if the road is bumpy and would rather have it in sports mode. Next time I think I would spring for dhp over the m sport suspension

I've had my M50d for 23 months and I find switching between sport, comfort and eco does not make much difference with suspension and steering, but it does significantly affect gear selection and throttle response. My wife's 2016 JCW Mini makes a significant difference across all and you definitely feel the suspension go hard or softer. For the X6 though it is fine for the ride, although it is not a floaty RRS or RR.

Finally my car got to the dealer. Unfortunately I won't be able to get it until Saturday, there might be some slight chances to get it on Friday, I have to wait and see.

I just got home from the dealership with the car, I had to drive almost 180 miles to get to the dealership but it was worth it. This car is so quiet compared to the M4 that I traded in that was always causing argues with my wife whenever I was accelerating it on freeways. With this X6 I drove with about the same speed as I drove yesterday with the M4 but my wife was so quiet. I love how comfortable this car is, I won't regret a second that I got it, the only thing to regret is that I did not get it earlier, but then I would have wanted the M4.
