Door trim panel - upper light guide

Hoping someone can offer some help. I'm struggling with RealOem and which ambient light guide I need to source to replace the one missing from my door panel. Recently purchased the X5M and it's apparent the passenger front door trim panel has been off. As a result the top light guide of the ambient light is missing. I can see the led is still working but it doesn't have a "conduit" to travel and provide light. I'm not sure which part number to go with... I appreciate any help, thanks!

Left side/right side is determined by the perspective of sitting behind the steering wheel. Thus, if you’re in the USA where we have LHD (left hand drive) vehicles…the left side is the driver’s side and the right side is the passenger side.

Since you’re working on your passenger door…you need parts that are designed for the RIGHT side of the vehicle.

In regard to items #1…the supplemental column is asking do you have the light pkg option that is code # S563a…select the part number based on how your BMW is optioned.

I appreciate the reply. I understand the perspective aspect of the part search. My confusion lies with selecting the correct "light guide" or "fiber optic cable." The one missing is the top guide/cable. The lower two led modules have guide/cables installed and the light is seen when on. The upper led module works but has nothing to transfer the light along the length of the door panel.

Ah…I was unsure and couldn’t quite tell what you were asking…because I assumed it was obvious by the green numbers on the door….so I reread it to see if there may have been another question you were asking (oops, I guess I was wrong).

Those green numbered circles on the door (in the illustration) are the index that reveals the location of those numbered parts in the exploded view and in the part number index below the diagram.

If you need the top “light guide”…the green #3 circle references to that part number…and the green #2 dot which is below the handle optic cable. would be the lower LED.
