It's Here! (Plus Questions)

Hi All,

My new X5 Diesel M-Sport has arrived! Attached are a few crappy photos from the dealership.

I did go with the DHP and M-Sport suspension. My question is, how do I adjust this? Is it just the simple settings that do either drive train or chassis or both?

Haven't really gotten it out on the highway to play yet, but it's hard to tell the difference in the different modes - as far as suspension goes.

I didn't go with the HUD because I wear polarized sunglasses all the time - but I sort of wish I did...

Thanks everyone!

Its depends on the brand of sunglasses. My RayBans are fine, Maui Jims not so.

Once have HUD, hard to have a car without it

Congrats! Very nice.

Try taking a hard turn (not a 90 degree street turn but a freeway entrance banked turn) in different modes (Normal, Sport, Sport +). You'll feel it...then love it.

Yes, you should've gotten the HUD...and got a new pair of sunglasses. I regret not getting ACC - Stop/Go.

Enjoy.

Yea, HUD would've been nice, but it's okay. I got the items I really wanted other than that.

I did just finally get it on the highway. In sport + taking a windy off ramp felt MUCH more like my old 335 than my E70 did. Way more confidence in the corners.

Even just flicking it into a 90 degree turn coming home felt incredibly different.

Yes, I'm instantly a fan of DHP!

Regards,

To be honest, it is absolutely inconceivable to me that BMW does not make the HUD standard on the X5. Add backup camera too for that matter. This has been beaten to death I know but these shouldn't be luxury add-on options on these trucks.

Beautiful X5 by the way!!

Thanks!

I went for the backup camera and surround view as stand alone options.

I didn't love the HUD on loaner cars, but I'm wondering now if I would've gotten used to it in the end.

Oh well! I'm REALLY glad I got DHP thought!

Regards,

This is/was my experience.. when I had it on a loaner it wasn't as great as everyone made it out to me.. When I got HUD in my current X5 which was included in the Drivers assistance package.. first few weeks it was still sort of unnecessary, but as I used it everyday I started to appreciate it. Now I would not get another car without this option.

DHP is one of the best options from BMW... its just too damn expensive though.

Enjoy.

Tell me about it. 3 weeks old and I haven't broken 200 miles yet.

Congrats! Enjoy the ride. As the miles roll by you will come to appreciate DHP. It wasn't until I deliberately picked out one of my more challenging driving roads from my motorcycle riding days that I confirmed that the F15 can handle hard driving, easily.

As has been said elsewhere, in all future vehicles, I'll make sure DHP is included!
