Front Bumper removal
Hi all,
Anyone got any tips on how to remove the front bumper completely? I think I can see how it's done but wondered if anyone has experience which could help me out in the process. Cheers. |

What are trying to achieve? Maybe there is other way around.
But usually taking of a bumper is as easy as taking off all the screws by the edges of the bumper.

No its definately a front bumper!
Reason for removal is for the installation of the M50D front grilles with flares on a 4.0D. Not possible to do this from inside the wheel due to the oil reservoir behind the grille. |

i've taken one off a 5 series before. it may be similar. just undo some screws along the wheel liner, a few screws on top which are visible with hood open, and perhaps a few from the underside in front, which would screw into support. the trickiest part is pulling the bumper ends out from the fender.

if its like the 5 series, the headlight washer door(cover) is completely separate from the spray nozzle. the door is spring loaded, and when the washer is activated, the washer head pops out and just pushes the door out.

I took mine off few times. It is secured by bolts up above the front grille, two bolts on each side where the bumper connects up to the fender (you need to take the fender liner out and undo the flare a bit), and then all the bolts you see from securing the bottom splash guards to the bumper itself. Once all that is undone, wiggle the bumper off disconnecting the fog lights, PDC wiring, headlight washer line if you have it, and you are done.
