Custom exhaust tips on OEM exhaust F85 X5M

Hi there,
Someone was made this mod to exchange the original chrome exhaust tips with some custom options like carbon, power coated black etc. tips with bigger size too?
For this moment i want to keep my OEM exhaust BUT want to put some more bigger and looks better like OEM tips.
Any advise or suggestions
Thank you!

I did some research before I bought these black tips from MODE in Australia. Some people had trouble with the regular MODE tips deteriorating from the acids etc in the exhaust. (or something like that) And I saw a message from MODE to one of those owners where they recommended their ceramic coated tips for better longevity.

So anyway, here are the ceramic coated black tips from MODE that I had installed. If you're going for the black theme, they're great because they're a matte finish and any discoloration from the exhaust blends in. They fit great, look great, and seem to be holding up well thus far.

You will see where it says "with slight modification" for the F85 X5M and F86 X6M.

Here is my origianl post on this...

https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1770912

If you scroll through, some people found them cheaper at other places other than MODE.

Just FYI, the mouths of mine discolored fairly quickly despite ceramic coating, but overall they still look decent after a year.

Mine are different than what people were circulating on that post. The ceramic ones are matte and that's what I have. They are supposed to be more durable than the shiny ones, per MODE.

Are yours the ceramic matte ones or the regular shiny ones?

I bought the gloss ones and ceramic coated them myself. You may only be able to get the matte ones from MODE.

Minor Modification

The tabs on the new tips just need to be cut and/or bent a certain way then they slip right on with a rubber mallet. No welding. No alteration to stock tips, although they probably get ruined in this process. MODE can send you instructions.

How big does the "inlet" need to be to fit the stock muffler of a 2016 F85 X5M?

Would these fit?

I think m5 f90 3" inlet will fit check ebay, I want to install carbon fiber m tips so bad, but not 100% sure the size, and I don't want the slip on 3.75" black , prefer cut the stock and replace with CF m tips
