Here is a Google docs survey of most of the issues I have picked up on my short time with this car and on this forum.

Survey Link:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1V6T...?usp=send_form

I didn't have the time to set it up as a "what if" (if you have soft close doors, then check all that apply), so it is very basic. Still, it seems to aggregate a little better.

Don't kill me if you don't like the form or the results you see.

Interesting to see 'Stop button does not turn off engine' winning so far, bit of an issue that!!

What else is a stop button supposed to do?

I can expand. Virtually limitless. Those who have taken the survey would be doubling up if they retake. Give me a few hours....busy for a few hours.

Arg....looked at it.

1) I regret not numbering the list. If I number it now, the results go away. Am looking at workaround.

2) There were two vibration amongst the "other" so far.

Current OTHER list includes 7 responses amongst 32. They are:

- 1 Emission sensor malfunction
- 1 Had to be reprogrammed by dealer
- 2 Vibrations at certain speeds
- 1 "Tailgate dont"
- 1 Pedestrian detection system failure
- 1 "other"

Feeling quite the idiot.

If any of you ever want to create a survey, don't do as I did. Number the list.

So basic and yet overlooked by me. It makes looking at the tabulated results much harder. I tried to manually change the list and responses by adding numbers to the aggregated table, but it was not working. Perhaps my shortcoming in figuring out Google's Form app.

Wow, over 33% of respondents reporting the stop button doesn't stop the engine. Has anyone asked BMW or their dealer about this seemingly widespread issue yet?

I think the elephant in the room is soft close doors popping open. 17% considering most people don't have the package. My four week old car has been at the dealer for the last two weeks and is not being released for this issue. I smell a voluntary recall.

The start/stop buttons will get a new part number, if not fixable with software.

Parking sensors need to be addressed in firmware.

Yes, soft close doors popping open is a much more serious issue. There was obviously something wrong with the locks when they issued the recall for the rear door child locks being able to be overridden but with that one you at least had to pull the door handle for it to maybe happen. Having doors just open, albeit onto the latch, by themselves is much more scary and I'm surprised that BMW haven't done something about it yet given how litigious the US is.
