Gear selector switch not working X5 F15 40e error CF1701
Morning!
I have a Feb 2016 X5 F15, 40e, 125K KM/75K Miles. Since last week I got the error: Gear Selector not working, go to a BMW Service centre. I arrived home, in P, cannot move the car since than. LED's are not lightup on the handle. I have 3 errors: CF1701, CF17B1 and CF17A1. I checked the 3 fuses: 54, 32, and 24. All OK (are there other fuses I should check?) I read somewhere that this must be a defect gear selector, so I ordered a 2nd hand (working) one from ebay. Nope, same problem. I checked the connectors (I think the gear handle is connected to) to the ECU under the air filter next to the engine, at the passengers side, but I couldn't disconned these three connectors, I don't understand the unlocking mechanism.... The next option is call the BMW dealer to have the car picked up, offered fix is "an new computer, around 8000 USD, but that is not guaranteed to be the solution".. Ths car has a history of being very "sensitive to rain", when its raining, after 30 minutes drive, all possible errors are being generated, the whole Xmas tree. Could never found the source of that error. Anyone? What can I do, I have ISTA here I can use. Thanks a lot, Rob Last edited by rokio; 02-02-2024 at 07:34 AM.. |
