N55 Engine - Can you tell me what this is? (see photo)

This piece shown in the pic looks like it could be a male plug to an intake line or something. Does anyone know?

If you are referring to the round tube, you are missing a vacuum hose (P/N 11657588771)..which connects to the round threaded plastic feature in your red circled area in your photograph, then straddles the value cover, then drops down one of the slits of the intake manifold...not sure where it connects to but it would have to be a source of vacuum....surprised you don't have issues....the vacuum hose that you are missing is provided in the last picture below.....

Thanks a lot for the part number, i will get that ordered. I am also surprised it hasn't thrown a code or something.

I just finished up replacing the vcg and it was bugging me seeing that

To the OP, if you provide your build date...I'll check if you really need this vacuum pipe....before you buy it.

EDIT: Doesn't look like the F15 N55 engine requires as this vacuum line is required for the Mechanical Wastegate versions of the N55, and the F15's is an Electrical Wastegate +2014..but isn't called out for any F15 prior to 2014 either....

Garage List
Vacuum Hose for 535i N55

Does anyone know if this is the same for an F10 535i N55? I just realized today that my 2015 535i (production date 11/2014) is also missing that same vacuum hose but I'm can't seem to confirm if it's supposed to be like that or not. I don't have any check-engine light and iDrive isn't showing any errors.

It really depends on whether your N55 comes with a EWG or PWG. This vacuum line is omitted along with some other air hoses for PWG actuation altogether. For a 2015 535i, even with production date 11/2014, it's still hard to tell. The only way to tell is if you go take a look at the exhaust side of your valvecover, remove the long intake tube, and look in that vicinity to see if there are some small rubber hoses running down to the turbocharger. If so it's an PWG. EWG turbo's don't need these hoses, and so does it also remove that piping altogether.

Do you know what the line above the one you were looking for is called? I broke the connector and it started throwing codes at me. Any help is appreciated.
