Radio won't work. Help. Water on floorboard
So long story short we have had some heavy rains here lately and today I got into the car and had water dripping down onto the seat and floor mat. I guess some water got on the carpet and even below. While driving the speakers we're making crazy noises but eventually stopped. I managed to lift the carpet and dry as much for it as possible and unclogged my sunroof drains which I believe was the cause.
Anyone know what to look for to fix my radio ? What do I have to check or replace ? Tia |

Check for water at the rear left compartment where amplifier is.
(open hatch and panel is on the left, lift up the black styrofoam piece and check. If wet, leave it open to dry out for a few days. Might be lucky, or you might need a new amp if it got wet. While you are at it, check the right side too, where fuse panel is and battery compartment too. |

Water only got into the front right passenger foot area. I didn some digging and found the fuse above the battery in back appears to blown for the audio amplifier. I dried the foot well area as best as I could and ordered a new fuse assembly. We'll see if this helps. There appears to be no modules on the floor there just a few wires. I'm assuming water got into the wires and caused a short.

I had a leak somewhere on my 2014 528i
Got into the rear and front passenger carpets, tried to dry and vaccuum as much as I could. Long story short one of the rain drains was clogged and over the course of 2 mths developed black mold which I had no idea was getting me sick. Bad headaches, cough sneezing, bloody noses etc Luckily insurance bought it off and thats how i stepped into my x5 Also under glove compartment wiring harness was full of moisture.. |

So I replaced the fuse box assembly that sits on top of the battery. Hooked up the battery again and amp started smoking. I'm assuming now the fuse is good again but it seems like I may need a new amp.
