X5 better for Bad back???
Hey
Not sure there is much evidence. I have an auto immune condition which affects my very low back recently diagnosed. I run a 740d ATM - and can actually feel the back pain starting after about 15 minutes when I am "inflamed" - I wondered if the seat in the X5 is likely to be a better hip position than the 7. The 7 seats are really soft. |

My X5 is not what I would call comfortable. The short 5-10 min dealer test drive wasn't long enough to make me realize that.
Love everything else about the car though so I'm keeping it. |

The 7 series I would expect to be more comfortable. Even with the nappa comfort (multi-contour) seats in my X5 I find they're just okay, which seems to be the owners' consensus.

This is going to be very owner subjective, but I enjoy the seats in our X5 (nappa multi contour heated/cooled). Have taken it on family trips which involve 20+ hours of driving. I wouldn't say they are the MOST comfortable seats, but I was never in added pain. Meaning more than I am used to.
BTW, I have had lower back surgery (3cm herniation) and reinjured it so needs more attention. Just for context. |

this is definitely a subjective topic. I would recommend you try it out. I get backpain in log drives on why lexus is250, but zero backpain on the X5 even after 7hour long drives (and I don't even have the comfort seats). I have definitely noticed that suv seats that sit up higher are better for back pain vs lower seats you find on a sedan.

I think the seats in my F85 are great once they're adjusted right, but I wouldn't say any of the X5 seats are "plush". The SRT seats I had in my Grand Cherokee were significantly more compliant, especially with the softer suspension. I don't get "car ass" from extended drives or anything, but I've noticed BMW seats in general are very particular about how they are adjusted. If they're a little off, things start hurting.
