$500 over invoice for me for my 2017. $113,095 sticker, $106,120 purchase price, representing total discount of 6.2%. (FYI, invoice pricing was up about 1% for 2017, even though MSRP did not change).

From what I've read, it really comes down to 1) does your dealer have an allocation, and 2) what do they want to charge for that allocation. My dealer did not have an allocation so had to request or trade for one. Unfortunately, we only have one dealership in Indianpolis. I would assume you have more than one in Austin, so you can hopefully drive more competition or get better pricing from a dealer with a higher number of allocations.

There's only one dealership in Austin, and they weren't very willing to give me a discount. I bought from San Antonio, and they have been great to work with.

Don't do business with BMW Houston North, they are complete asses across the board. I will never buy from them.

It's really kind of amazing how the sales culture is so different between dealerships, isn't it?

It's crazy! San Antonio was nice across the board from the beginning, I hope that doesn't change. BMW of Austin didn't want to make much of a deal, and the sales guy got upset when things didn't go his way. BMW North Houston really took the cake though. The sales guy was really rude from the get go and wasn't even interested in talking to me even though I said I was ready to order. The sales manager emailed me asking for feedback, and I emailed him back saying I had a bad experience with one of his sales guys. Didn't hear a word back from him, they obviously don't care. I guess I understand why the sales guy doesn't care, seems like that's the culture there.

Seriously, how hard is it to just say that they're sorry they can't sell it at the price I'm looking for in a nice way instead of being condescending and short.

I'm having the same battle right now here in Atlanta. United BMW seems like they do not want to work with me, Global, which used to be a bunch of asshats, are willing to work with me. At the end, I think that Global will be getting my business and other future business. Funny, because I am a long time customer of United and have bought 5 cars there. And now I'm about to spend another $100k and it is like they are getting annoyed, because I'm trying to get any discounts that I can have. On the other hand, Global will be happy to give me any discounts and work on my trade. Hopefully I should have an answer by this weekend, so I can order. It doesn't pay to be loyal to one dealership, that is an opening for them to take advantage of you.
