I am glad you got a tire on eBay for now.
Thanks. Get 20s OEM with all seasons for winter and 22s after market for summer.

Curious, has this happened in the past with MPSS tires?

Yes. Even shortage of Cup2 tires. Porsche substitute it with Pirrelli for the GT4 cars, owners are not happy.

Maybe there was a defect and had to re-formulate? No way Michelin would leave so much money on the table.

MPSS have been having this national back order for the longest time.
The earliest I can remember, was in late 90's.
Mostly in Porsche application that is always out of stock.

Nope.

No winter set , we have very little snow , when we have ...

The guy at the tire shop said that my tires are still good for another 10k km.
Pretty amazing , those tires are so durable.

Not to hijack the thread, but not even 2 hours after I replied to this post I got home and saw this. Got it plugged for $10 this morning, we'll see if it lasts or if I have to replace the tire.

The guys at the tire place told me that RFT are OK to plug if they have not been driven hard after the puncture for 100 miles. I drove it for 25, so it seems to be saved. Had this been on the side wall or close to it I would had been SOL.

It's fine. I owned 11 BMWs, 8 of them had RFTs. I plugged them a few times and lasted the life of the tires.
