I didn't get it either, it doesn't look good and it takes up a lot of space. I have laptops and tablets for the kids for road trips, and they are way more convenient anyway.

My build week is week 32, August 8-12. 2017 F85 production begins Aug. 1st, so I should have one of the first 2017 MY F85s produced.

My build specs are as follows (nothing unusual):
> Donington Grey w/ Mugello Red... common on this board, but there is not another one in my area (Indianapolis)
> CF trim
> Executive Pkg
> Driver Assistance Plus
> Apple CarPlay
> B&O

I am planning to do Performance Delivery... Waiting for list of available dates from the Delivery Center, but I'm hoping for late August.

I've had several BMWS, including 4 M3s, and currently have a '13 E70, so I'm not new to BMWs or M cars. But I'm really excited to experience the F85! I really hope it meets my expectations because I had to place my order without ever driving one!

I'm looking forward to following the build process. It's going to be a loooong 6+ weeks until delivery!
Nice and congrats. I just ordered the same specs from my Ft. Wayne dealer. Were from Angola about 4hrs North of you. Anyway share some pics when you and your wife get it.

Great! Good to see another Hoosier on this board! When is your truck being built?

Traded in our 2012 X5 for a 2016 M5 last year. Liked the M so much decided to get an X5M for our SUV.

We ordered our 2017 x5m a couple of weeks ago. They will not give us a performance center delivery date either because of the EPA stuff. We are trying to get an October 20th delivery date to co-inside with a Vacation we have planned in the Mountains right after that date.

We decided on Melborne Red with Full Silverstone and Carbon fiber trim.

Got the Driver Assistance Plus, Executive package, Apple Car Play, Bang & Olufsen, and Rear seat entertainment.

We decided on 20" wheels for a little smoother ride on our old bones.

Hope this is half as much fun as our M5.

Anyway, just found out that my production week was bumped from week 32 to week 31 (Aug 1-5). My CA said PCD won't let them schedule a date for factory delivery because the 2017s do not yet have EPA approval... apparently this is quite common that they don't have approval until a week or so before they start production, but I found it amusing given no mechanical changes between 2016-17.
Did you ever get a performance center delivery date IndyM. I haven't heard anything as of yesterday.

I'm planning to do Performance Center Delivery, but the Performance Center won't give me a pickup date until they release the engineering hold. My wife and I are planning to go down to pick it up and make a nice getaway out of it, but she's about to blow a fuse since I can't give her a date for the trip... we have 4 little kids going back to school next week and she's trying to make arrangements (someone to stay with the kids, etc) so we can head to SC the following week (or so) after that!
Any updates on this? I just checked today and my car (your twin lol) is in production and should be on on Friday. I hope they've approved emissions by now?

As of Friday afternoon, my car was still sitting with an Engineering Hold waiting for EPA approval. It's been done for over a week! I'll post an update as soon as I get one.

they are going to have a pile of cars to store if the government doesn't get to work. Did I just say "government work"

I just saw this thread... I was originally scheduled to do a performance center delivery of my X5M on Oct 20th, but moved it to the 21st. Missed you by a day. I moved from a 2013 X5M to a 2017 X5M. I absolutely love the 2017, truly an upgrade over the 2013.
