RKP Carbon Lip Installed on MW F85
Can't say enough about the guys over at IND. The lip came very well packaged and the quality/fitment is top notch. Perfect weave all around and the install took 15mins! Fitment is spot on.
Heres a teaser shot from my phone for now. Going to try to take better pics of the car when time permits. (new plates coming... )IMG_1856

Thanks.
I wanted to go with a X5M exclusive color but none of them won me over DG - Most common on the F85. I prefer a more cooler color grey than this warm version LBB - Too teal for me. Not a fan. Saw this in person recently on a F85 and it confirmed what I thought MR - this was my top choice besides MW but since i really wanted the Mugello red interior I thought red/red is too tacky. That plus the fact that I've never seen the X5M in this color in the flesh I couldn't make a 100K gamble incase i didn't like the color. In my opinion you can't really go wrong with white/red combo. Also prior to getting the F85 I had my 22" BBS wheels already refinished to chrome shadow which works best on white or red only. I am very happy with my choice. Untitled

This front lip looks pretty good.
I'm still not sure if I will install this lip on mine (already have the RKP rear diffuser). Do someone have a picture with the front lip installed on a DG X5M (to make a better idea of how it will looks on DG)? The red lining looks great! Is it painted or is it a vinyl stripe? |

@Alan I.
Did you think about painting your brake calipers in red to match with the lining and the hub of your wheels? Did you get a diy instruction to install the lip? Last edited by sos_73; 06-20-2016 at 04:49 AM.. |

No tint yet. Going to go with 20% this time around so it matches the back better.
I had 35% on my 35i and with all the light coming in from the windshield it made the tint look significantly lighter than the back. Alan

The lip goes on so easily my daughter could probably put it on. No DIY needed. Once you place the lip on the car you'll understand. It was the easiest front lip installs i've ever done. 10-15mins tops.

It does lower the front end the same height as the lip. This lip essentially mounts below the bumper so you are sacrificing ride height for sure.

Bad habits are hard to break
I agree about no drop needed. I thought my F15 looked ok without a drop on the adaptive M suspension and the F85 looks a tad lower than that which is perfect for me. Given that this thing already rides pretty firm I can't imagine making it ride any firmer. Here's a shot of the RKP rear thanks to jpsjr70 Untitled

Awesome ride Alan, It definitely inhanced the vehicle look.
the missing link here is the carbon fiber mirror covers, It will add more contrast and sum the vehicle up. |
