2016 X5M Running BMS JB4!

Hi guys! I just want to give a shoutout to Terry from BMS for working together on getting the JB4 on my vehicle and running. I truly have to say the tune opened up the beast!

In the video the ///M is running on Map 2 with pump 93
Enjoy

Best,
Joe Cicareli.

Would really like to know more as I have a racechip on my shelf which I haven't installed yet and would prefer JB4. I trust BMS more (and It! clears codes if I put down pipes).

It's actually this one:

http://burgertuning.com/s63tu_m5_m6_bmw_jb4.html

But do we know if the M5/M6 harness will work and if the difference in transmissions between our trucks and these cars cause problems?

These kits look intense.... Dinan and disregarding my concerns about RaceChip, looks much easier to install and take them off before service.

Yes it will work. I can assure you it will work for your trans too. It doesn't change trans settings, so no need to worry, at least for now. Theres no back-end flashes for trans, boost, etc..

Specify in your order that its for an F85/86 X5/6M.

I believe that it is the best product out, as of now.

I am just curious why you think the JB4 is better than the other piggybacks out there now?

Is there actual customer dyno posted yet?

Alan

It is. It took about 2 hrs to install. One of the plugs is very difficult. So worth the time though. Its incredible how quick this truck is now! Very happy with the outcome.

Do you know how many connections. I installed my race chip myself and pretty self explanatory but one connection was hard to get too. Thinking I could install myself

Did you run the BCm also

Yes i did! I have noticed it helping out tremendously. I loose less than 1 psi of boost when the car is shifting from one gear to next... I think the trans has a lot to do with it as well.

The kit is relatively easy to install if you know what you are doing

There are 4 connections and 2 stray wires.

2 plugs for tmap under the intercoolers (any piggy back on the market uses these two plugs, it allows for 3psi over stock)

2 plugs for electronic wastegates and BCM (required for 20+ psi applications)

One ground for BCM, and one plug for OBD wedge for canbus.

Changing maps can not be done on the BC Button like every other jb4 but in time we'll figure that out. Boost on fuel gauge is live tested and working for me for months. I daily the car in map 2 (22psi) and yes have dyno'd the car. It is north of 620whp but for sake time I won't post numbers as we're still playing with it.

Map 7 can be run with 100+ octane @ 25psi

Car is a rocket now, have videos against e55s, e63, gtrs. She holds her own. If anyone wants to pm me I'm more than happy to provide install instructions (without removing intercooler like needed for m5) as well as answer any questions. Been running it 3 months and 8000 miles so far so good!

Install for a new timer is roughly 2 hours. I can have it in or out in 30 minutes so once you do it once you'll realize the simplicity!
do I have to get the bcm module & obdii port ($1050)or can I just get the ($450) which is recommended

You're going to enjoy. Pm me and I can help walk through. Once you remove airbox and cross member the tmap are easily reachable. As well as the two wastegate. I suggest finding a long skinny hooked screwdriver to pick and lift the furthest wastegate plug, will save you from removing. I will redo mine tomorrow and take detailed pics for anyone needing assistance!

JB4 can make impressive power. Only concern I would have is Drivetrain breakage once you go over 3-4 psi increase. Holding that much power at our weight can be tough on parts.
