Key programming?
Is there a way to program the key so that the trunk pop is disabled? I've had a problem where the key get pressed inadvertently in the garage and it hits the door.

If your tailgate goes too high and hits your garage door when it is lifted and horizontal...you can limit the height that the tailgate raises to. You can do that in iDrive (probably in SETTINGS). Or, you can quickly find how to set the tailgate's height by opening the owners manual embedded in iDrive. You can do a search by keyword to find it. Edit: found these videos doing a quick google search...don't know which version of iDrive you have so I'm posting ID4 and I think ID5/ID6

I had the same issue. I solved my problem by changing the trunk lid to open after pressing the remote continuously for 30 seconds. For me, that was as effective as disabling the remote.
I tried a couple of covers, and they were too bulky for me. 30 seconds is an eternity, but there has never been a time where I wanted to use the remote to pop open the trunk lid. What I really don't want is to have the trunk lid accidentally opened in the garage, and then have someone open the garage door before the trunk lid gets closed. |
