To my understanding there are no incentives currently on the X5
Not many X5 35d available and unfortunately dealers are noticing this. Best I have received is $2000 off msrp I'm in California. Dealer in the east coast has no problem discounting the car 7 percent. Road trip? |

In a couple days of looking, the best deal I've been able to find in the northeast is 8% off plus an additional $2k off. It comes out to around 11% off MSRP on the build I'm looking at. |

So I've been going back and forth with a couple local dealers on a X5 for my wife. I was originally planning to purchase but now I might lease because it seems like my wife's getting a new car every few years. I have never leased a vehicle before so I'm learning on the fly. Here's what seems to be the best deal that I've been offered:
12K/ 36 Month Lease MSRP $65,695 Sell Price $57939.40 (including all discounts) $2102.95 due at signing (first month payment, fees, etc) $708.60 base payment + sales tax = $758.20/mo. .00160 money factor - .00020 reduction (corp discount) = .00140 money factor Residual value (57% of MSRP at 12k/yr.) = $37,446.15 If we go to 15k/yr. the residual decreases to 55% of MSRP, which would raise the payment approximately $40/mo. If you guys could provide some feedback on this deal I would appreciate it. Like I said, I've never leased before but it seems like a good deal to me. |

You getting roughly 12% off the MSRP as the negotiated price (capitalized cost) which is good. Not sure where the $6 monthly is lost but is incremental. Google any lease calculator and you can input your deal and you can validate your number. In a lease, every $1,000 you decrease the negotiated price is worth a reduction of roughly $30 in monthly lease payment. The money factor of .0014 equates to 3.36% interest rate (multiply money factor x 24 to get annual interest rate). I got .0014 but that was without a corporate discount so unless they raised them in March the money factor should be 2.88%. Let me know if you have more questions. I have leased many BMW's. |

Nubs61 & Habsone, thank you both very much for the feedback! Having never leased a car before, I've never heard of MSD's until this. I did some quick research and it's basically the payment after lower MF, rounded up to nearest $50, correct?
I took the advice and tried a lease payment calculator with the .00071 MF. Does this look like the correct payment on that MSRP with that MF? Monthly Lease Payment: $681.57 Monthly Depreciation $569.26 Monthly Interest $67.72 Monthly Tax $44.59 Money Factor Equivalent APR 1.70% Thanks again for the responses and I owe you guys some cocktails! |

Great looking ride! Congrats. Like the black sapphire, gives it more dimension than just black IMO.
Enjoy. |

Monthly Lease Payment: $448.87 Monthly Depreciation $311.39 Monthly Interest $112.07 Monthly Tax $25.41 Money Factor Equivalent APR 3.36% Upfront Payment $6,000.00 Total 36 Lease Payments $16,159.19 Total Cost to Own $58,644.39 Having just gone through this, 13% off can be difficult to obtain. If you can get 12% off MSRP it would be roughly $20 more a month. There are a lot of variables so you should see where you can get the price of the X5 to from the dealer but these numbers should give you an idea. Also, a lot of people are really against putting down money on leases and $6k is a lot. The standard fees and first months payment should be more in the $2k range. Another member posted this recently but there's actually a price increase on X5's next month (link below). That said, just last week I negotiated 12.5% off a lease from a local dealer. I've read about others getting anywhere from 5-13% off MSRP. For my deal, I basically had 2 dealers trying to win my business. In order to get the monthly payment you want, you would need the dealer to sell you the car for $51,500-$52,000. Anything lower than that is going to save you additional money. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...58&postcount=1 |
