New member here. Good looking ride. I am starting to build my X5 in this color and was hoping to get some interior shots, if you don't mind? My perfectionism can get annoying sometimes...

I messaged him to let him know, but there are a few other Dark Graphite X5s on the forum here. What interior color are you thinking of?

I was originally considering Black Dakota with the Fineline Pure Wood, but considering my Texas heat and the X5 being out in the open sun from 8-5, I am reconsidering this option and leaning toward something lighter (e.g. Ivory White with Black Dakota or Canberra Beige).

Wouldn't tint help? I've tinted mine, but I get what you mean. Here is a good discussion with pictures of the trims: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=884213/

Hamad, thanks again! Dark graphite is awesome, a little prone to dusting but well worth the extra effort!

Emearatte, welcome to the 50i club! when's yours arriving?

Stingr, I have black leather interior with aluminum trim, it's probably too hot for your taste in Texus. It was quite hot during the time of pick up in LA 2 months ago, I really had to max out the AC whenever possible.

So with the kind help from our resident BMW guru Omar aka Opasha, I finally managed to install 6WB cluster retrofit onto my car.

The process was definitely rough for the first time. My hands got cut here and there, but overall the job took about 1 hour. I can't imagine what Omar had gone through for the first time. Even taking these small adapters from the wires required trial and error, otherwise you could easily rip the cables apart. The tool Omar suggested, has proved to be essential, making a supposedly grueling process (popping the dash out) into a walk in the park.

I found the hardest part of the installation to be placing the cluster back into the opening for the first time. I had no idea how far the cluster would have to tilt forward to get these latches in place for the bottom. Having Omar on phone through the process at least saved me another hour of hard work. Thanks bro~!

The car now drives like a next generation car, the high res cluster brings a smiles for me whenever I start the engine.

ps. my girl loves that song lol.

Awesome job, Wei . All the hard work was by you, but glad I could help make it easier. Welcome to the 6WB club, my friend .

Looks awesome

Hi looks hot, you are going to have a lot of fun in that beast. Seems wheel spacers are big in the USA.

Hey Mdeverux, thanks man. JB4 makes acceleration violent now, but then the gas stop becomes more frequent too.

MerrittM3, thanks for the kind word, that's one awesome color M3!

I have installed the Suntek frontal bra (sp?) I think I am now fully ready for the ski trip!

@cy07, great mods. @opasha has done it again.
I think we should promote his next mod thread to become featured thread again once he is done with all of his CF mods.

Hey @BananaCar thanks! I like that aggressive look of x5 too much!

@R33 I think we fed Opasha enough attention, the more mods he plans to do the more we have to follow lol. Let's get him featured again hehehe.

@Zipforia Ray this is something you have to stare at everyday, so it really changes the feel of the car to next gen. The wow factor is there whenever you just start the car.

Nice choice on the wheels man, they really suit the vehicle...love the wider stance as well. I'm gonna hold off on wheels for mine, but am going to run spacers for a while. If anything, I would have gone with a slightly taller profile tire. The wheel wells on the these F15s are huge.

@stewy604, thanks for the kind word man! I thought about the taller tires, but they might rub the fenders as you turn and you'll have to deal with a slightly off speedometer.

Spacers are great with the stock upgraded 20's, they are already wide and aggressive enough. Just make sure you have a quality set of longer lug bolts should your spacers be more than 15mm.

Beautiful ride! I have to say, I agree with some of the others that have said we don't like after market wheels. BUT, yours are an awesome exception to that feeling IMO! Love the set-up.

Question: On the east coast and have a hard time finding spacers for F15. Where did you get yours from? Did you order directly from Hartge?

@Gruntion
Thanks a lot! I agree going aftermarket might not be for everyone, but it's cool to determine how aggressive you'd want your stance to be. The style is a subjective matter, I do appreciate that most find my choice to be classy. Finding the right alloy is half the fun.

Hartge spacers come as a set with the wheels, they are specific to Hartge wheels, and have different hub size. They won't work with stock wheels.

I believe for X5 there is HR bracers available already online. Not too sure about other ones yet!
