V1 remote display location
Does anyone here use a remote display for their valentine 1? Brough the whole package over from my 135 (had remote display + obd plug + remote speaker), debating where to place the display itself. On the 135, I had it just under the odometer, up against the dash glass. Not sure if the same will work here and not look like trash.

Don't have a X5 yet, so can't comment on location etc. However, good choice with the V1 for your detector. You should look into custom sweeps and even YaV1 once you get everything setup and hardwired.

I don't have the custom sweeps or YaV1 - I've read a lot about both, but don't have the radar experience to dwell further. Can you PM me and walk me through it and what would be the best settings for Maryland. My V1 works great in A (all) mode for highway and small L mode for city, but I kept the J setting for Ka POP on because I thought many police use it; however, this POP mode is what triggers the beeps for automatic doors at stores and vehicle lane assist systems. A friend sent me this: http://www.rdforum.org/wiki/index.ph...aphical_Survey. Let me know, thanks bud .

yeah, i'm fan. especially with the obd plug auto-muting below a speed threshold, makes city use much easier.

I remember reading somewhere you can get this to display info on HUD, was it for Valentine One? I think it required some sort of coding.

Why not just use the OBD plug? I did that in my 135 - run the cable up along the roof liner, down the a pillar and right to the OBD plug. Added bonus of speed-set auto-muting.

In response to a note upthread, the following RDF group is dedicated to YaV1: https://www.rdforum.org/forumdisplay.php?f=159
I am iOS captive and so I use the native V1 app + SA, but one can add an Android device without a data plan to operate YaV1. I am waiitng, hopelessly, for Apple's CarPlay.
