weird question: how do you guys turn off the car?

I normally push the engine off button twice to turn everything off but I've noticed that you can also just push the off button once, leave it in accessory mode and it turns completely off when you lock the car.

Just code it to turn everything off when the engine is stopped and the driver's door is opened. It always seemed strange to me to have the radio still playing as I exited the car (before I locked it).

That is what I do also.

Me too. I use my comfort access to lock and unlock my car. Very nice feature. Also, coded to unlock all my doors when you turn off the car so one less step to unlock and get out....

I think mine does that automatically (no coding so far). Odd.

I press the stop button and leave the car with radio on and everything on until I lock it, usually with comfort access. I used the same behavior on my F10 for 4 years now and my dealer said it helped destroy my car's battery (due for change now and very expensive too).

Press Button (once), exit car (with multimedia on) and press and hold key fob so it switches everything off, locks all doors and then folds door mirrors

That's what I do too (except I touch one of the handles). Except in my garage where I leave it unlocked; then I press it twice.

I think that you can press and hold the start/stop button to skip the accessory state.

I do not have problems when locking the F15, but when it is in the garage even though I push the start/stop button twice there is enough power to keep two radar detectors (Escort Max or RL + V1) running for 30 minutes.

Anyone know a solution to this? I called GMW Genius and he said take it to the dealer. I am not there yet as I have had the vehicle less than 3 days at this point.

Where are the detectors powered from? 30 mins is about how long it takes the car to go to sleep isn't it?

I saw your other post before this one and in my reply noted that the detectors still have power after I lock the X5.

My 2012 and 2008 X5s would kill power to the detectors when pushing the stop/start button twice and certainly when the E70s were locked.

So it is common knowledge the it takes the F15 30 minutes to go to 'sleep'? In other words, I have to manually turned off my detector if it is not hardwired? I will hardwire the V1 but such the console socket to power my Escort Max and RL.

You come across the 30 mins sleep timing when you get into coding. Some coding changes require you to make the change and then allow the car to go to sleep in order for the change to occur or for something else to happen.
