Finally, after what seems like a lifetime of a wait, I took delivery of my X5 M today at the performance center. What an awesome experience. Here are two photos I grabbed when I had time during the day.

So how long of a wait was it? From order to delivery?

I have tried three times to update this posting with two pictures I select, but it doesn't seem to want to work. This app does not like my iPhone very much.

I placed my order end of February, received allocation, and production number beginning of second week in March. The vehicle went into production last week of March, and I would have had the car a month ago, if I didn't want to do delivery at the Performance Center. It was worth the wait. The day at the Performance Center was amazing.

Started the drive home today, after Extreme Colors finished installing XPel Ultimate. The X5 M has exceeded all of my expectations. I was worried I might not like the steering, since it is all electric, but I actually like it very much. The performance center experience was amazing. I'm looking forward to going back soon, for the two day M Driving School. I'm going to try to post some more pics. Hopefully this time, the app doesn't post the same photo multiple times.

How happy are you with the Xpel installation by Extreme Colors? What did you have covered? We are considering Performance Center Delivery for our X5 M and would like to have Xpel Ultimate applied prior to returning home.

I thought Extreme Colors did a very nice job on my vehicle. The issues I had with the install were things out of their control, mainly the templates from XPel for this vehicle. Whoever designed them, did a poor job in a few areas. For example, the holes in the front bumper template from XPel for the fog lights are too large in diameter, so it leaves a small area uncovered around the fog light inset. There were a few others, but nothing major. Doug, at Extreme Colors, did a stellar job installing the film. I had the full hood, full front fenders, full front bumper, headlights, rocker panels, wheel arches, A pillars and roof right above windshield, and 6" up from the bottom of the doors covered, as well as about the lower 8" of the rear bumpers where the rear wheels could kick debris up onto the bumper. The price was reasonable for what was done. Extreme Colors installs XPel on all of the vehicles the BMW Performance Center owns/uses. Private message me if you'd like further details, or info on how long you can expect to be staying in Greenville for the work to be completed, as BMW won't let the work be done before you take delivery of your vehicle.

I love the red interior, and I'd order it again in a heartbeat. It's a bright, but classy red, but to be honest, I was nervous about my choice, right up until I walked into the delivery bay. I ordered the whole vehicle without ever driving one, seeing one, or seeing any swatches/samples. Signing all the paperwork the week before, still being unsure of my choices was a surreal experience. I'm happy to say the whole vehicle has exceeded my expectations.
