USB connection in center console Issues?

Anyone connecting their iPhone 5 via USB in the center arm rest in charging iPhone 5? I plugged my USB cable into the USB port and get a cycling between charging and not charging every one second.

Something is clearly wrong.

My Sales Advisor claims its an issue that has popped up since the Launch of iOS7???

Any one else experience similar problems? Any solutions?

Thanks

I do agree it could be the cable, but I also agree that iOS7 is the worst update ever for apple iPhones. I had 0 problems with my phone before the update and tons of little ones after the update. Also, the new iPhone 5 no longer having native video out seems to be causing all kinds of problems for BMW and everyone else trying to do something with their phone that was easy on a iPhone 4.

For some cables, I've read, that it is as simple as unplugging the cable from the phone, turning it over and plugging it back into the phone because some non-Apple cables do not work "upside down".
