Guys, who leased the car thru NY dealers (NY residents or Out of state buyers) - can you do MSD on lease?

NY dealer told me they can't do MSD in NY on lease. It's not legal something BMWFS rule. Even I'm out of state buyer and will be registering the car in other state.

Is this true?

I have about a 50k investment in my current X5 which I purchased new in 2003. I was planning to mostly pay cash for a new F15 this year. Am I going about this all wrong? I don't think I could sleep at night if I had a $900 car payment. Perhaps you folks are filthy rich. Please educate me.
To add to everything already said, some people lease because there are specific tax benefits that accrue from leasing big SUV's especially if you own a small business or are self employed. I am not a tax accountant so I don't know the details unfortunately. This is a start though - http://www.businessinsider.com/tax-l...y-cars-2012-11

+1 You "stole" my words I would only add that a lease only makes sense if you are driving no more than 15k miles per year. If you plan to put a lot of miles in he car than leasing is not a good option

I just drive the car for 3 years and put gas in it. When I am done I hand the old keys to the dealer and drive off in the new car.
