This video shows age old BMW and Mercedes pros/cons. It seems that Merc upped its game with the W205 C63 but kept things as usual with the GLE.

Very good points, i.e., did we all really learn anything from this head-to-head? X5 is well known to be a pretty decent, sedan-like handler; a raised 5-Series, if you will. By extension, also the X6.......but even more so. The old ML-Class' ML63 turned GLE63 not so much. Ever. A great luxury SUV to be sure, which has it's markets, as stated by Phatcat........but never reminding us of a sedan, nor encouraging much hooliganism (except straight-line blasts). Kinda like the basic E-class, though I will say the E63/CLS63s are pretty damn decent handlers. Still, MB never seemed to try transferring that handling prowess to the ML/GLE63s. So, the car nuts choice - mine included - would have to be X5 or X6. Add some Hamann aftermarket work it and you have one meaner looking and more dangerous SU-Coupe. |
